Presented by: Volkswagen Picture perfect conditions greated 292 boats from 14 states, USVI, Canada, Japan and the UK in the 2003 version of the Newport Regatta Presented by Volkswagen. 948 sailors took part in the best racing available in North America. 4 Circles of Racing were run for the 19 classes of boats. All of the Results are posted for each class. Pictures were taken by Cory Silken. The real winners of the Newport Regatta are the participants. " It was a great event overall, and our class certainly thought it outstanding" said Hunt Stooky, F18 HT Sailor. "Ron Hopkins and his RC crew did a great job, please let them know how much we appreciated their efforts ." Newport Harbor and Rhode Island Sound were perfect environments for multiple races for the 4 divisions. 156 races were run on the 4 circles. With 292 boats, that is 45,552 fineshes were taken by our volunteers! "Thank you for a great weekend of racing in Newport!! We were excited to be a part of such a large and well run event.
